Interventional Radiology
Interventional radiology involves the use of contemporary imaging methods (primarily real time video x-ray, called fluoroscopy, as well as CT and ultrasound) and novel techniques to provide less invasive treatment for a variety of medical problems.
Benefits of Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy
Using CT, Fluoroscopy, ultrasound and scoping modalities, we are able to provide non-surgical, minimally invasive, alternative treatments for many disease processes. Benefits include:
Decrease in mortality rates
Minimized anesthesia time
Minimized discomfort
Reduced hospital stays
Interventional medicine provides options to pets in which conventional therapies are declined, not indicated, or associated with excessive morbidity or mortality. Interventional radiology also allows us to offer therapeutic options for patients with medical conditions where treatments were not previously available.
