Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center (VERC)

Internal Medicine
Our board-certified Internal Medicine specialists, commonly called internists, work with you and your regular veterinarian to provide the comprehensive care your pet needs. Our board-certified internists have extensive training in all aspects of internal medicine and employ sophisticated diagnostic techniques to every case they manage. Each pet is an individual and care, diagnoses and treatment are tailored to meet your needs and those of your pet.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Our team will take your pet’s medical history, review results of testing done by your family veterinarian, and perform a complete physical examination of your pet. We will then discuss appropriate diagnostic steps based on your internist’s findings and observations.
Once a diagnosis has been established by our internal medicine team, we will work with you to develop a treatment plan for your pet, keeping in mind the goals you have set for your pet and your family.
Our internists work closely with your family veterinarian to ensure continuity of care, as well as a complete and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
