Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center (VERC)
Diagnostic Imaging
VERC uses the latest technology in medical imaging, providing timely and high-quality images needed for the most informed and effective treatment of your pet.
Veterinary diagnostic imaging allows us to non-invasively evaluate your pet and diagnose some medical conditions by obtaining and interpreting medical images. Our diagnostic imaging department will work in conjunction with your regular veterinarian to provide the diagnostic imaging your pet needs. Modalities include CT, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, and ultrasound. A radiologist correlates medical image findings with other examinations and tests, recommends further examinations or treatments, and consults with the referring veterinarian managing the case.
Our board certified radiologists have extensive training in advanced imaging diagnostics and use sophisticated equipment. Advances in animal health care have led to a wider variety of highly specialized imaging procedures using radiology, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) board-certified radiologists spend at least three years additional years achieving their specialized medical degree focusing strictly on the application of these imaging modalities. The concentrated training in radiology allows the ACVR radiologist to keep current with frequent advances in noninvasive diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology procedures.
