About

Dr. Erika Sox obtained her bachelor and DVM degrees from University of California Davis. After her rotating internship at a private specialty and referral hospital in San Diego, Dr. Sox went on to complete residency training at Cornell University in 2008 and achieved board-certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2009. She practiced in the San Francisco Bay Area for two years prior to relocating to Honolulu in 2010, becoming the first board-certified internal medicine specialist to practice on O’ahu. In 2012, she co-founded Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center where she has continued to practice ever since, serving as medical director from 2012-2022.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Sox enjoys getting to know her clients and patients and helping them diagnose and manage complex medical conditions. Dr. Sox has served on the Hawaii Veterinary Medical Association Board of Delegates as an O’ahu representative since 2014. Outside of work Dr. Sox spends her time crossword puzzling, swimming, hiking and relaxing with her family.
