About

Dr. Heather Luce grew up in Connecticut attending the University of Connecticut for a degree in Animal Science. She completed her veterinary training at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Initially, Dr. Luce’s passion for horses as a young girl drove her to focus on equine medicine on the east coast. After a few years of hard ambulatory veterinary work, she decided to change her lifestyle and transition to small animal practice, returning to her Connecticut home. Emergency medicine became a natural path for her to take with lots of experience doing emergency calls on horses. Small animal ER has become her home away from home. To this day, she reports that she often gets “goosebumps” talking to clients about ER medicine. She truly picked a career befitting her personality.

Dr. Luce relocated to southern California to join her family living there in 2014. This was just one step away from the goal of moving to a tropical paradise.  A trip to Maui many years ago was the inspiration for that dream.

The dream was realized when she moved with her parents, teenage daughter, and three kitties here to Oahu in August 2022.  In her personal time, snorkeling and floating in the calm, warm waters at Ko Olina and Ala Moana are her favorite pastimes.
