About

Dr. Kathryn A Pitt graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine with a combined DVM/MS degree. She went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by a three-year surgery residency at the University of California-Davis.  

Dr. Pitt spent a short time in private practice in Portland, OR before joining the soft tissue surgery team at Michigan State University (MSU) as an Assistant Professor. She was named head of the soft tissue surgery service a year later. 

She has an interest in education and completed a post-graduate certificate in Veterinary Education and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.  Dr. Pitt left MSU for a one-year Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Colorado State University. 

Dr. Pitt has since been spending her time as a locum surgeon providing soft tissue and surgical oncology services across the country.  She is excited to join the team at VERC.
