Kaui Zukeran-Kerr

Born and raised in Kona on Hawai‘i Island, Dr. Kekauilani “Kaui” Zukeran-Kerr is proud to bring her expertise back home to serve the local veterinary community. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, Dr. Zukeran-Kerr earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University and completed her clinical year at Colorado State University (CSU). She remained at CSU to complete a small animal rotating internship before pursuing a diagnostic imaging internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, followed by a radiology residency at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Dr. Zukeran-Kerr’s professional interests include advanced imaging techniques such as CT, MRI, and ultrasound, as well as the role of diagnostic imaging in improving early detection and treatment planning across multiple specialties. She is passionate about collaborating with referring veterinarians to provide timely, detailed interpretations that support accurate diagnoses and the highest standard of patient care. Dr. Zukeran-Kerr has joined Dr. Burns’ team at Oahu Veterinary Radiology.

Before veterinary school, Dr. Zukeran-Kerr worked as a veterinary assistant at Southern California Veterinary Imaging, part of the City of Angels Veterinary Specialty Center in Culver City, CA, an experience that deepened her appreciation for the value of teamwork between specialty and primary care providers.

Dr. Zukeran-Kerr and her husband, both proud locals, are thrilled to be back home in Hawai‘i with their two tabby cats, one geriatric Kelpie mix, and their child. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, mushroom foraging, cooking, singing, and cheering on the San Francisco 49ers, passions she often manages to combine into a perfect weekend.
